FAQ

Is the EMSELLA Chair treatment painful? How many EMSELLA treatments will I need? When can I expect to see results from EMSELLA treatments? Are there any side effects or downtime associated with the EMSELLA Chair? What are some benefits of EMSELLA Chair Treatment?

EMSELLA offers numerous benefits for individuals seeking to improve their pelvic floor health. By strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, this treatment can effectively address issues such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and sexual dysfunction.

Additionally, EMSELLA is a non-invasive and painless procedure, making it an attractive option for those who may be hesitant to undergo surgery or other invasive treatments. With minimal downtime and lasting results, EMSELLA is a revolutionary solution for enhancing pelvic floor health and overall well-being.

How it works?

EMSELLA utilizes high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles, inducing thousands of supramaximal contractions during each session. These contractions help to strengthen and re-educate the pelvic floor muscles, leading to improved muscle tone and function. The treatment is performed while the client remains fully clothed and seated on the EMSELLA chair, making it a comfortable and hassle-free experience.

What conditions can IV therapy help with?

IV therapy can be customized to address a variety of health concerns and wellness goals. Some common conditions that may benefit from IV therapy include fatigue, dehydration, nutrient deficiencies, weakened immune system, stress, athletic recovery, and even hangover relief. Your practitioner will work with you to create a personalized IV therapy plan based on your specific needs and goals.

How long does an IV therapy session take?

The duration of an IV therapy session can vary depending on the specific treatment and individual needs. On average, most sessions take between 30 minutes to an hour. During your consultation, your practitioner will provide you with an estimated treatment time based on your personalized IV therapy plan.

Is IV therapy safe?

IV therapy is generally considered safe when administered by a trained professional in a sterile environment. As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects; however, these are typically minimal and rare. Common side effects may include mild discomfort or bruising at the injection site.

How often should I receive IV therapy?

The frequency of IV therapy sessions depends on your individual needs and wellness goals. Some clients may benefit from weekly sessions, while others may require treatments less frequently. Your practitioner will work with you to determine the most appropriate treatment schedule based on your specific concerns and desired outcomes.

What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)?

BHRT is a natural hormone treatment that uses plant-derived hormones that are biologically identical to the hormones your body naturally produces. It’s designed to help restore hormonal balance, addressing symptoms of menopause, andropause, and other hormonal imbalances.

How is BHRT different from traditional hormone replacement therapy (HRT)?

Unlike traditional HRT, which often uses synthetic hormones, BHRT uses plant-based hormones that are molecularly identical to those your body produces. This makes BHRT more natural and personalized, with fewer side effects.

What symptoms can BHRT help with?

BHRT can help alleviate symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, fatigue, weight gain, loss of muscle mass, low libido, sleep disturbances, and more.

How is BHRT administered?

BHRT can be administered through various methods, including creams, gels, injections, pellets, or oral medications. The method used will be tailored to your specific needs and preferences.

Is BHRT safe?

Yes, BHRT is considered safe when administered by a trained medical professional. Since the hormones used are identical to the body’s natural hormones, they are typically better tolerated than synthetic alternatives. Your health care team will monitor your progress and adjust treatment as needed.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are rare, but some individuals may experience mild symptoms as their body adjusts to the new hormone levels. These may include slight headaches, bloating, or changes in mood. These typically subside as treatment continues.

How do I know if BHRT is right for me?

To determine if BHRT is right for you, your healthcare team will conduct a thorough evaluation, including a review of your symptoms, medical history, and hormone testing. Based on these results, your healthcare team will recommend a personalized treatment plan.

How do I get started with BHRT?

To get started, schedule a consultation with one of our team. They will assess your symptoms, perform any necessary hormone testing, and design a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs.

How long does it take to see results?

Weight loss results vary, but many people notice changes within the first few weeks. Clinical studies show that significant weight loss can occur over several months with consistent use, diet, and lifestyle changes.

What are the common side effects of Ozempic?

The most common side effects include:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Decreased appetite

These effects are usually mild and improve over time, but severe reactions should be reported to a doctor.

How do I take Ozempic?

Ozempic is a once-weekly injectable medication taken under the skin (subcutaneously). Your doctor will determine the right dose and provide instructions for use.

Do I need to follow a special diet while taking Ozempic?

There is no strict diet required, but following a balanced, nutritious eating plan can enhance weight loss results. Many people find they naturally eat less due to reduced appetite.

What happens if I stop taking Ozempic?

If you stop taking Ozempic, appetite and cravings may return, potentially leading to weight regain. Long-term weight management requires ongoing lifestyle adjustments.

Is Ozempic covered by insurance for weight loss?

Insurance coverage varies. Since Ozempic is FDA-approved for diabetes, some insurers may not cover it for weight loss. Wegovy, the weight-loss-specific version, may have better coverage for eligible patients.

What if Ozempic isn’t right for me?

There are several alternatives, including other GLP-1 medications (like Wegovy or Mounjaro), prescription weight-loss medications, lifestyle programs, and medical weight-loss treatments. A doctor can help determine the best option for you.

How do I get started with GLP-1 medications

To get started, schedule a consultation with one of our team. They will assess your symptoms, perform any necessary hormone testing, and design a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs.

How does laser hair removal work?

Laser hair removal uses concentrated light energy to target and destroy hair follicles beneath the skin’s surface. This process inhibits future hair growth, resulting in long-lasting smoothness.

Is laser hair removal safe?

Yes, when performed by trained professionals using Health Canada approved equipment, laser hair removal is a safe and effective treatment for most skin types.

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients require 6 to 8 sessions spaced several weeks apart to achieve optimal results. The number of sessions varies depending on your skin type, hair color, and the treatment area.

Does the treatment hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap or mild sting — similar to a rubber band snap. Any discomfort is typically minimal and temporary, and our cooling system helps reduce sensitivity during treatment.

Can all skin types be treated?

Our advanced laser technology allows us to treat a wide range of skin tones safely and effectively. During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin and hair type to determine the best approach.

What areas can be treated?

We offer laser hair removal for face and body, including areas such as the underarms, legs, bikini, back, arms, chest, face, and more.

Are there any side effects?

Mild redness or sensitivity may occur after treatment but typically resolves within a few hours. Following post-care instructions minimizes any risk of irritation or complications.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime. You can resume normal activities immediately after your session, though we recommend avoiding sun exposure and heat (like hot tubs or saunas) for 24–48 hours.

Can I shave between treatments?

Yes. Shaving is allowed and often recommended between sessions. However, waxing, plucking, or threading should be avoided, as these remove the hair root that the laser targets.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Please shave the treatment area 24 hours before your session and avoid tanning or applying products like lotions or deodorants on the day of your appointment.

What is Thyroid Optimization?

Thyroid Optimization is a personalized approach to evaluating and supporting thyroid function beyond basic lab ranges. It looks at symptoms, thyroid levels, hormone balance, and overall wellness to help patients feel and function their best.

What are normal TSH levels?

Normal TSH levels can vary slightly by lab, but many standard reference ranges fall around 0.4 to 4.5 mIU/L. However, some patients may still experience symptoms even when their TSH is considered “normal,” which is why a more complete thyroid assessment may be helpful.

Can I have hypothyroidism with normal TSH levels?

Yes, some people may experience symptoms of hypothyroidism even when TSH is within the standard range. This may be related to Free T3, Free T4, thyroid antibodies, nutrient deficiencies, inflammation, or broader hormone imbalances.

What symptoms may suggest thyroid imbalance?

Common symptoms may include fatigue, weight changes, brain fog, cold sensitivity, dry skin, hair thinning, low mood, irregular cycles, and difficulty maintaining energy throughout the day.

Does Visage Rejuvenation offer virtual Thyroid Optimization consults?

Yes. Visage Rejuvenation has a clinic in Waterdown, Ontario, and can also provide virtual consults for hormone services, including Thyroid Optimization, across Ontario.

How is Thyroid Optimization connected to BHRT?

Thyroid function can interact with estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and cortisol. For patients receiving BHRT or other hormone support, optimizing thyroid levels may help support a more complete approach to hormonal wellness.

Are virtual hormone consultations available for Burlington clients?Visage RejuvenationBHRT consultationsCan I combine different aesthetic treatments?

Some treatments can be combined or sequenced as part of a broader plan. The appropriate timing depends on the procedures, treatment areas, your health history, and your skin’s response. Your provider will recommend a safe and practical schedule.

How do I know which facial or laser treatment is right for me?

The right treatment depends on your skin type, concern, previous procedures, sensitivity, lifestyle, and desired outcome. A consultation is the best way to compare options and establish realistic expectations.

Will my results look natural?

The clinic’s stated approach emphasizes personalized care and natural-looking results. Outcomes vary by individual, treatment type, anatomy, and response, so your provider will discuss what can realistically be achieved.

Does Visage Rejuvenation approve financing applications?

No. All applications, approval decisions, interest rates and repayment terms are handled by the independent financing provider.

Which Visage Rejuvenation treatments qualify for financing?

Eligibility can depend on the treatment, total cost and financing provider. Contact our team to discuss the treatment you are considering and the financing programs available.

Can I finance only part of my treatment cost?

Partial financing may be available depending on the provider and your approved financing offer. Confirm the available options directly with the lender before proceeding.

Is PRP made from my own blood?

Yes. PRP is prepared from a sample of your own blood collected during your appointment. The sample is processed to separate and concentrate the platelet-containing plasma before it is administered to the treatment area.

Is PRP the same as a Vampire Facial?

Not exactly. “Vampire Facial” is an informal term generally used for a treatment combining microneedling with PRP. PRP can also be injected directly into selected areas without microneedling.

Does PRP treatment hurt?

Clients may experience pressure, pinching, tenderness or discomfort during blood collection and treatment. A topical numbing product may be used for certain treatment areas when appropriate. Comfort levels vary between individuals.

How many PRP treatments will I need?

There is no single schedule that is appropriate for everyone. Your practitioner may recommend a series of treatments based on the area being treated, your starting concerns and how you respond. Maintenance appointments may also be discussed.

How quickly will I see results?

Skin-related changes may become noticeable gradually over several weeks. Hair-related changes can take several months to assess. Some clients respond differently or may not achieve the change they hoped for.

Is PRP suitable for every type of hair loss?

No. Different forms of hair loss have different causes and may require different treatments. Your practitioner will assess your concerns and advise whether further medical evaluation should be completed.

Can PRP be combined with other treatments?

Depending on your needs, PRP may be incorporated into a broader plan involving microneedling, professional skincare or other medical aesthetic services. Treatments should be combined only when considered suitable by your practitioner.

Is there downtime after PRP?

Downtime is usually related to temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising. Its duration depends on the treatment area, technique and individual response. Your practitioner will provide more detailed expectations during your consultation.

What do lipotropic injections do?

They deliver a combination of nutrients—often methionine, inositol and choline, with possible additional ingredients—by intramuscular injection. These nutrients participate in normal metabolic and cellular processes. The exact purpose and expected benefit depend on the formula and your individual health needs.

Do lipotropic injections cause weight loss?

Lipotropic injections should not be expected to produce significant weight loss on their own. If included in a weight-management plan, they are best viewed as a possible supportive treatment alongside nutrition, activity and appropriate medical care.

How often can you get lipotropic injections?

There is no schedule appropriate for every patient. Frequency depends on the ingredients, reason for treatment, medical history, response and provider's protocol. Your Visage Rejuvenation clinician will recommend and reassess a schedule personalized to you.

How quickly do lipotropic injections work?

There is no reliable timeline that applies to everyone. The response depends on the formulation, the reason for treatment and the outcome being measured. Your provider will explain what changes are realistic and how progress will be reviewed.

Do lipotropic injections boost energy?

Some formulas contain vitamin B12, and B12 deficiency can cause fatigue. Treating a confirmed deficiency may improve symptoms related to that deficiency. Receiving additional B12 or other nutrients does not necessarily increase energy when nutrient levels are already adequate.

Are lipotropic injections the same as fat-dissolving injections?

No. Lipotropic injections deliver nutrients into a muscle and do not dissolve fat where they are injected. Fat-dissolving injections are different treatments with different ingredients and purposes.

Are lipotropic injections safe?

Suitability depends on the ingredients and the individual's health, medications and allergies. Possible reactions range from temporary injection-site discomfort to ingredient-specific side effects or, rarely, an allergic reaction. A medical assessment should take place before treatment.
